ARREST EFFECTED

ESCAPED PRISONER. (Per United Press Association.) Pukekohe, December 12. The local police effected the arrest this morning of Colin William Glass, who escaped from the Mount Eden Prison on December 4. Following the receipt of information that a suspicious looking character was seen on the Cape Hill road, Constable W. Mawhinney set out and overtook the man who was proceeding towards Drury. The escapee had previously told a settler that he was making for Hamilton. After questioning, Glass was arrested, searched and brought to Pukekohe and later taken to Auckland. The prisoner was wearing dark clothing, sand shoes and a blackened grey cap. The police are now looking for the car alleged to have been stolen from Auckland last night
