CATALOGUE CLOSED

CHRISTCHURCH WOOL SALE. OFFERING OPENING UP WELL. (Per United Press Association.) Christchurch, December 7. The catalogue for the first Christchurch wool sale of the season, to be held next Thursday, closed last evening. Though no figures are available, it is generally expected the catalogue will not reach the total of 25,000 bales allotted by the wool committee. Farmers are evidently holding back in a belief that the January sale will be better. The wool is opening up very well in the stores. It is a little heavier in condition than last year, but it is cleaner, sounder and better grown.
