HARD WINTER AHEAD

FREE STATE’S OUTLOOK. INCREASE IN UNEMPLOYED. A hard winter faces the people of the Free State, says the Dublin correspondent of the Daily Mail. The number of unemployed, 117,000, is the greatest since the establishment of the Free State. The increase is attributed to the decline of rural employment, owing to Mr de Valera’s argument with the British Government reducing the British market. Trade has decreased by £49,000,000 in four years.
