PROVINCIAL EXECUTIVE. MONTHLY MEETING. The monthly meeting of the Southland Provincial Executive of the New Zealand Farmers’ Union was held yesterday. There were present: Messrs W. J. A. McGregor (president), in the chair), T. Major, C. H. Wilson, W. H. Ward, J. A. Johnston, D. Macdonald, H. E. Bacon, R. Sim, F. W. Lokan, E. Cameron, A. H. McLean, W. Couser, T. Hanning, T. Muirhead, W. B. Hopcroft, J. Robertson, J. Middlemiss, B. Clearwater, F. Walker, T. McCann, S. Shaw, P. Arnott, Mclntosh, J. Stirling, L. Hill, T. McMath, N. Mclntyre, J. J. Crampton, G. Hamilton, G. P. Chewings, A. Roy, J. R. Haigh, A. McKenzie, C. S. Stevens, J. H. McLeod and D. Dickie. Advice that approximately 3200 sacks of wheat had been submitted to the grader was contained in a letter from the secretary of the Invercargill Grain Merchants’ Association, Mr W. Carswell. He mentioned that in some cases it had been stated that the wheat had shown no improvement in condition and in some cases samples had been taken for moisture content. None of the wheat had been passed for milling. It was stated that a reply was being awaited to representations made to the Wheat Purchase Board and it was decided that Messrs T. Hamilton, of Oreti, and C. C. Derrett, of Riversdale, the delegates to the recent conference, should be asked to attend next meeting to give a resume of the conference and that the secretary of the Wheat Purchase Board should be asked to furnish an official report
