EMPIRE PICTURES, RIVERTON.
“AUNT SALLY.”
Comedy at its breeziest and best is to be found in the Gainsborough feature “Aunt Sally,” which commences a season at the Empire Theatre to-day. The picture has two very adequate recommendations; the singing and the dancing are good, and the acting of Cicely Courtneidge in the leading role is excellent. “Aunt Sally,” a Gainsborough production, is one of the most elaborately staged British pictures the industry has yet seen. The cabaret scenes are as magnificent as they are gigantic. Beautiful girls and magnificent frocking are outstanding features of the production, and the elaboration of the settings, together with the lighting effects, provide entrancing spectacle. The supporting programme includes a Gaumont miniature of “Buckingham Palace” and English Newsreel, Cinemagazine and Cinesound Review.
