THE KISCH CASE
ATTEMPT TO ALTER CHARGE. (United Press Assn.—Telegraph Copyright.) (Rec. 11.25 p.m.) Sydney, November 23. The Kisch case came before the Central Court to-day. The Crown sought to alter the charge against Kisch of being st prohibited immigrant to “having failed to pass a dictation test required by the Immigration Act.” Mr A. B. Piddington, K.C., who appeared for Kisch, strenuously objected to the alteration of the charge and also questioned the use of Gaelic to which the test was applied. Mr Piddington argued that the point the Court would have to decide was whether Gaelic was a living European language. Argument had not concluded when the hearing was adjourned till Monday.
