MISHAP TO CYCLISTS
FORKS BREAK ON INCLINE. RIDERS RENDERED UNCONSCIOUS. (Per United Press Association.) Taumarunui, November 8. Miss Bessie Gadsby and Edward John Tressider, both of Masterton, were proceeding to-day on a motor cycle from Taumarunui to visit relations at Nihoniho when, as they were descending q steep incline about a mile from Taumarunui, the forks of the front wheel broke. Miss Gadsby was thrown over the front of the bicycle, striking her head, the blow being minimized by the helmet she was wearing. Tressider was also thrown, and both were rendered unconscious.
Tressider soon regained consciousness when picked up by motorists following them. Both were admitted to hospital, Miss Gadsby being still unconscious, and Tressider suffering from shock and abrasions.
