After prolonged labour a party of amateur trawlers last week landed their “catch” on Tahuna Beach, near Nelson. It was then discovered that the “catch” in their net consisted solely of a score of stingrays in various stages of development—a poor reward for a strenuous effort. Their sizes ranged from that of a large dinner plate to fully 18in. across the broadest portion of their backs. Each was equipped with a tail and a dangerous sting.
