“OUTWARD BOUND”
GOOD RECEPTION AT GORE. Gore drama lovers were given their third opportunity for the year to witness a production of the Invercargill Workshop Theatre last evening when Sutton Vane’s play “Outward Bound” was presented at the Princess Theatre and was accorded a favourable reception by an enthusiastic audience. The three plays presented during the season have been of a widely varied nature, ranging from a translation of a Moliere play, a brilliant modem comedy by van Druten to the more serious work “Outward Bound.” These productions have now thoroughly established the reputation of the Workshop Theatre for providing performances of an extremely creditable order. The Gore audience last evening found the strange and eerie situations much to its liking and the final curtain was marked by enthusiastic applause. The attendances at Gore presentations of the series of plays have not been large, but the action of the Dramatic Society in bringing its productions to Gore has been greatly appreciated by drama lovers who are hopeful that they will have further opportunities to witness stage productions of a similarly high order.
