INQUEST ON SEAMAN. (Per United Press Association.) Wellington, October 11. At the inquest on Henry Jameson, aged 36, a seaman, whose body was found in the harbour on October 4, the Coroner returned a verdict that deceased was believed to have died from drowning, there being no available signs of violence or of evidence how the body reached the water. The deceased was last seen alive on September 10. DEATH FROM INJURIES. (Per United Press Association.) Christchurch, October 11. Charles James Chittenden, aged 61, died in the hospital this morning from injuries received in a collision with a motor car while cycling on October 8. RAILWAY EMPLOYEE INJURED. (Per United Press Association.) Hastings, October 11. A crushed chest and ribs were sustained by a railway porter, Richard Steele, at Takapau this afternoon during shunting. The buffers of two waggons overlapped and Steele stepped in to remedy the defect, being squeezed between the two waggons. He is progressing satisfactorily in hospital at Waipukurau.
