NEW ZEALAND CRICKET
AUSTRALIA’S INTEREST.
COMMENT BY MR. NOBLE-.
(United Press Assn.—Telegraph Copyright.) Sydney, October 10.
Mr M. A. Noble, a former captain of the Australian Eleven, who made several trips to New Zealand, commenting on the statement by the president of the Otago Cricket Association, Mr Fraser, that Australians did not love New Zealanders and paid little attention to them, said Mr Fraser was wrong. “In my opinion, New Zealand and its people are fine,” said Mr Noble. “Their cricket is good; but is not up to the standard played here. However, it is rapidly improving and within a short time New Zealand should be capable of fielding a first class side.'’ Mr Noble approved of the suggestion that Australia should send a team to New Zealand every year.
