SCHOOLBOY’S DEATH. (Per United Press Association.) Nelson, September 20. A 12-year-old school boy, Brian Newton O’Connor, a son of C. O’Connor, received a blow on the head while playing with other boys prior to entering a Technical School class yesterday afternoon. He appeared to be suffering and went home. Later he was removed to hospitaldying an hour after his admission. MAORI COMMITS SUICIDE. (Per United Press Association.) Hokitika, September 20. Andrew Maika Mason, aged 29, a Maori, jumped into the Arahura River yesterday and was drowned. He left a note stating where his' body would be found. He was unmarried. OVERCOME BY FUMES. (Per United Press Association.) Wellington, September 20. While changing a tyre in a garage at his residence Frederick Stewart was overcome by fumes from the engine and was found dead. The deceased was a builder and contractor of Island Bay. He had the engine running, apparently to warm it up. He was underneath the car when found an hour after going to start it up yesterday afternoon. He was 42 years of age and leaves a widow and three children.
