A DRAWN GAME

AUSTRALIA v. KENT CENTURY SCORED BY McCABE PONSFORD MAKES 82 (United Press Assn.—Telegraph Copyright.) London, August 31. The match between Australia and Kent was drawn. The wicket after lunch still looked easy. McCabe was in great form, driving powerfully. He was especially severe on Freeman and reached his seventh centry during the tour in 130 minutes. He hit eleven fours and gave one of his best displays during the tour, Bradman declared when Woolley dismissed McCabe. Ponsford was sound and vigorous. He hit one six and three fours. Kent began their second innings with 90 minutes left. Ashdown soon provided O’Reilly with his hundredth first-class wicket during the tour. The Australian bowlers were able to extract some life from the pitch, whereas Kent failed. Fleetwood-Smith, making the ball break prodigiously, also took his hundredth wicket for the tour. Apparently by mutual arrangement, stumps were drawn when the seventh wicket fell ten minutes before time. Scores:— AUSTRALIA. First Innings.
