WOMEN’S DIVISION
OTERAMIKA BRANCH. The monthly meeting o£ the Oteramika branch of the Women’s Division was held in the hall on Tuesday evening, when Mrs Munro presided. An invitation was received from the Morton Mains branch to attend their birthday party. Hostesses appointed for next meeting were Misses P. King and M. McNaughton. It was decided that the competition be for the best plate of pastry, and the roll-call, a gardening hint on plants or seeds. The date of the birthday party was fixed for September 21. It was decided to send invitations to all presidents. The winner of the chocolate sponge competition, was Mrs Birch, with Mrs Munro second and Mrs Clearwater third. An interesting demonstration on silk art was given by Miss Robertson, of Mabel Bush. She showed some beautifully worked samples of her craft. At the conclusion of her demonstration Miss Robertson was accorded a vote of thanks on the motion of Mrs Cook. WYNDHAM BRANCH. (From Our Correspondent.) The monthly meeting of the Wyndham branch of the Women’s Division was held on Thursday, when Mrs N. Jefferies presided over a fair attendance. Mrs Ward, Dominion president, wrote advising that for the present she was unable to speak at Wyndham, but would be pleased to do so later. It was decided to donate 5/- towards the expenses of sending a representative to the Pan-Pacific Conference, at Honolulu.
Members were requested to bring parcels of groceries to the next meeting, when all would be forwarded to Victoria Home, Invercargill, as a donation. A competition on the making of thrift articles was judged by Mrs Nelson, Dunedin, and was won by Mrs A. Gregory with a beautiful rug made from scraps of tweed. Mrs R. G. Carson and Mrs W. Hunter tied for second place. ________
