Coming of Age Party

A very enjoyable party to. celebrate the coming of age of their eldest daughter, Marjorie, was given by Mr and Mrs Robert Marshall at their home, Pukemaori, on July 11. The bam, which was cleared for the occasion, was most effectively decorated with native greenery, and the soft glow of the lamps through the decorations added to its festive appearance. The evening was spent in dancing and games. Music was provided by Messrs J. W. Bradley, J. Rodgers and

H. Carr. Items were given by Messrs J. Watson and H. Bryan. During supper a handsome birthday cake with twenty-one candles was cut. Mr R. Muldrew, on behalf of those present, congratulated Miss Marshalion attaining her majority and wished her every success in the future. The guest of honour was then accorded musical honours, after which she responded. Mr R. Muldrew, on behalf of the guests, thanked Mr and Mrs Marshall for the very pleasant evening, and the happy party terminated with the singing of “Auld Lang Syne.” Those present were: Mr and Mrs R.
