ST. MARY’S ANGLICAN CHURCH.

The annual meeting of parishioners of St. Mary’s Anglican Church, Wyndham, was held in the Masonic Hall on Tuesday evening when the Venerable Archdeacon of Southland, the Rev. J. A. Lush, Invercargill, presided over a fair attendance. The annual balance-sheet, which showed a credit of £l3 13/6 on the year’s workings was adopted. Mr Davey presented the annual report and congratulated members on the sound financial position displayed. Votes of thanks were accorded to the Ladies’ Guild. Euchre Tournament Committee, Mr W. F. Bennetto (treasurer), Miss Marsh (organist), Mr Hicks (choirmaster), the choir and layreaders, Mrs Porter (superintendent) and Sunday School teachers. The following committee was elected —Messrs Davey, L. Harley, S. Rice. M. C. Rice, C. Werry, G. J. C. Smart, G. R. Wilkinson, F. Williams and W. F. Bennetto. W.D.F.U. The monthly meeting of the Women’s Division was held in the Masonic Hall on Thursday afternoon, when Mrs N. Jefferies presided over a large attendance. It was resolved that two advisory members, Mesdames Craig and Foster, be empowered to spend up to three guineas in purchasing clothes for relief in a local case. At the next meeting a play will be read and Mrs R. G. Carson will give a demonstration on crocheting tea cosies. Mrs Warnock, Morton Mains, gave an interesting address on making moccasins. She was thanked on the motion of Mrs J. Robertson. Hostesses for next meeting will be: Mesdames A. and W. Gregory, Heaps, D. Hopkins, A. Howe, A. Hunter and Miss M. Hunter.
