TOWARDS FASCISM

THE TREND IN AMERICA. EFFECT OF RECOVERY ACT. (United Press Assn.—Telegraph Copyright.) Washington, June 13. Stating that the development of the National Recovery Act “day by day reveals a more clearly marked trend towards Fascism in the United States,” Mr W. O. Thompson resigned to-day as a member of the N.R.A. Review Board. He further asserted that the trend of the N.R.A. administration had been—and continued to be—towards the encouragement and development of monopoly and capitalism in the United States. The only solution involved a change in class relatiorxhip. Only government by the workers and farmers could plan production and produce goods for use and not for profit, eliminate poverty and raise the standard of living of the entire population.
