“It has been suggested there is a natural opposition between State schools and those termed non-State schools, but I can candidly say this opposition does not exist,” said Mr H. B. Lusk, of the staff of King’s College, on his election as president of the Auckland Secondary Schools Assistant Masters’ Association. “My relations with the staffs of State secondary schools have been most cordial,” continued Mr Lusk. “I have never noticed this suggested antagonism among the boys, and if people outside would not interfere in things they do not understand, I think it would be a great benefit to everyone. However, I suppose that is a great deal to ask.”
