EXCHANGE RATE

FURTHER INFORMATION NO CHANGE BEFORE NOVEMBER LONDON OPINION (Per United Press Association.) Auckland, June 12. The exchange rate between London and New Zealand is likely to be maintained at least until November 30, according to further information received in Auckland by cablegram from London. The cablegram is from the same source as that quoted yesterday and was sent in response to a request for further details. The first message stated: “It is the opinion there is no likelihood of any alteration in the exchange in the near future. Understand Government has signed agreement with banks for further six months.”

The supplementary cablegram was that the arrangement between the Government and the banks extends to November 30 and is subject to cancellation at any time by mutual agreement.
