AIR MAIL FLIGHT
AUSTRALIA TO NEW GUINEA. NEW ZEALAND REQUESTS. (United Press Assn.—Telegr ph Copyright.) Sydney, June 7. Mr C. T. P. Ulm advises that his flight to New Guinea will be made about the middle of July. Mr Ulm will return to New Zealand during the next fortnight to fly the Faith in Australia back to Australia. The Faith in Australia will also carry the first official air - mail from New Guinea to Australia. Mr Ulm said: “Hundreds of requests have reached me from New Zealand for the posting of letters by air mail to New Guinea, but in almost every case insufficient money for postage has been forwarded. The total amount necessary is 1/4 a letter. New Zealand stamps cannot be used.” OFFICIAL ADVICE FLIGHT ON JUNE 16. (Per United Press Association.) Wellington, June 7. Official advice has been received by the General Post Office regarding the special air mail flight to Papua and New Guinea by Mr C. T. P. Ulm in the Faith in Australia. Letters from New Zealand for the flight will be accepted for the machine scheduled to leave Melbourne on June 16, leaving on the return flight on June 22. This timetable will probably not be adhered to, however, as the Faith in Australia is still in New Zealand and advice just received from Mr Ulm indicates that it will not be returning to Australia until about June 27. Arrangements are being made foithe despatch of another trans-Tasman air mail by the machine on its return flight, probably by a new route.
