OUTBREAK OF FIRE

BATTERY RAIL-CAR. SEVERE DAMAGE. (Per United Press Association.) Christchurch, May 25. The battery rail-car that has been used on the Rangiora-Little River run for the past seven years was badly damaged by fire last evening when in the Christchurch railway yard. A fuse in the wiring is believed to have caused sparks which set the flooring alight. The blaze was put out with chemicals. The damage is estimated at about £2OO.
