WIRES DOWN
POLES ON FIRE.
COMMUNICATION INTERRUPTED. (Per United Press Association.) Auckland, April 7. Telegraphic and telephonic communication was inter) upted this afternoon by a fire which destroyed a number of telegraph poles about two and ahalf miles south of Taupiri and brought the lines down. All districts to the south were cut off for two hours, after which it was reported that temporary communication had been restored.
