DOMINION CHAMPIONSHIPS,

(Special to the Times.) Christchurch, January 6

Play in the Dominion croquet tournament was resumed in fine weather on Friday morning, but about 1.30 a violent thunderstorm broke over the city, the heavy rain stopping play for an hour or two. Following are the results:— HANDICAP DOUBLES. Mrs W. Taylor and Miss Morgan defeated Mesdames Cowper and D. Lee 26—21 Miss McDowell and G. Hart defeated Mesdames Cowan and Cooper 26—15. Mesdames Tisch and Collins defeated Mrs J. Smith and Miss Mclnman 26—18. Mesdames Barr and Richards defeated Mesdames Osman and Field 26—6. Mrs Evans and A. G. F. Ross defeated R. VZ. McCreath and Mrs J. T. Wilson (Invercargill) 26—23. Mesdames Caldrow (Wellington) and Amos (Ashburton) defeated Mrs Maddren and Miss Collinson (Christchurch) 26—6.

Mesdames W. Quinn (Invercargill) and Mrs Heenan (Ashburton) defeated Mrs Curie and Miss Perrin (Invercargill) 26—5. Mesdames Scandrett (Christchurch) and Patchett (Timaru) defeated Mrs Saunders (Ashburton) and Hore (Invercargill) 26—17. Mrs Richards (Timaru )and Mrs Barr (Ashburton) defeated Mrs Revell and Mrs Johnston 26—23.
