INVERCARGILL DEFENCE CLUB.

The Invercargill Defence Rifle Club held a practice shoot at Otatara on Saturday afternoon, a small attendance firing over the three ranges, 300, 500 and 600 yards, 10 shots at each. Weather conditions were good for light but a changeable southerly served to level the aggregates. There were some good range scores at 300 yards. W. Milley 4554454455—45, and J. CITY GUARDS CLUB. The City Guards Defence Rifle Club fired the third and final round of the Whitecombe and Caldwell Cup at Otatara on Saturday, 10 shots at 500 and 600 yards. At 500yds A. Wilson 46 and W. McChesney’ 46 shot well under the conditions. At 600 yards the troublesome fishtail wind increased in strength and affected the scoring considerably. With 18 handicap A. Wilson wins the cup with an aggregate of 273. A. N. Smith on 24 handicap 263 second. J. T. Wilson 10—262 third. The following are the third round scores:
