RAILWAY NET REVENUE.

Wellington, January 0. The chairman of the Railways Board to-day announced the financial results of the working of the railways for the four-weekly period ended December 9.

Gross revenue showed an increase of £57,015 as compared with the corresponding period of the previous year, and working expenses showed an increase of £1709, resulting in an increase in net revenue of £55,306. For the portion of the official year from April 1 to December 9 the gross revenue showed an increase of £108,926 and the expenditure a decrease of £108,920.

The increase in the net revenue for the portion of the year to the date mentioned was £153,033 as compared with the corresponding period of the previous financial year.
