SANDERS CUP

SOUTHLAND CANDIDATE.

THE VAL SELECTED.

As a result of the trials held in conjunction with the Bluff Regatta, the Vai has been selected to represent Southland at Lyttelton on February 5 in the New Zealand 14ft x class championship contest for the Sanders Cup. Although Vai did not actually win the trials, it was only by seconds that she was defeated, and it is the opinion of the selectors that with a better setting suit of sails she would prove superior to Rona, the boat which won the trials. In all probability Vai will be using Rona’s sails at the contest.
