AID SOUGHT

MESSAGE BY PIGEON.

A MAN MISSING?

(Per United Press Association.) Dannevirke, December 29.

A blue checker pigeon bearing, a rubber clock ring with the initials “C.F.C., 2930,” walked into a local shop this afternoon in an exhausted condition. Attached to the leg was the following message, “Stranded, wireless broke and wire disconnected. Please send help or will perish. Snowed in. The message was signed “Bob.” The local police are in doubt whether the message is genuine or, a hoax or whether Dannevirke was intended aS the destination of the bird. Nobody id reported here as missing. The weather is very boisterous and there is a day’s heavy snow on Ruahines.
