MILLING WHEAT

PRICES FOR 1934 BUYING AND SELLING. The Wheat Purchase Board has supplied the following tables setting out the buying and selling prices of 1934 f.a.q. milling wheat:— Sacks.—ln all cases sacks are extra: New 48in at 10d each; once used 48in at 8d each (46in sacks one halfpenny less in each case).

Buying Prices.

For all f.a.q. milling wheat grown in the South Island north of a straight line drawn from Waikouaiti to Queenstown except wheat in the Luggate-Arrow-lown District: —

The buying price for Dreadnought is one penny and for Webbs Harvester and Goldberry twopence less than above.

For all f.a.q. milling wheat grown in the South Island south of a straight line drawn from Waikouaiti to Queenstown except wheat in the Luggate-Arrow-town district:—

The buying price for Dreadnought is one penny and for Webbs Harvester and Goldberry twopence less than above.

The buying prices of f.a.q. milling wheat in those districts where the natural outlet is through Cromwell or Kingston shall be one penny per bushel more than the prices as set out in No. 1 above.

All the above prices are f.o.b. grower’s nearest port. Tlie buying price for North Island f.a.q. milling wheat for all varieties shall be the price of South Island tuscan f.o.b. Lyttelton plus lOd. a bushel. Selling Prices. Luggate and Arrowtown. —The selling prices to Luggate Mill shall be on the basis of 4/- per bushel for Tuscan, January-February-March delivered to the mill. The selling prices to the Arrowtown mill shall be on the basis of 4/4 per bushel for Tuscan, January-February-March delivered to the mill.

The selling prices for North Island f.a.q. milling wheat for all varieties shall be the price of South Island Tuscan wheat f.o.b. Lyttelton plus the following amounts: In the case of Manawatu Mills Ltd., Palmerston North, 9d a bushel; Messrs Hodder & Tolley Ltd, Feilding, lOd a bushel; Messrs Henderson Bros. Ltd., Marton, 91d per bushel; Messrs Wakelin Bros., Ltd., Carterton, lOd a bushel; Southern Cross Biscuit Co., Ltd., Wanganui, a bushel. These prices to be the prices delivered at the mill. Certified Seed Wheat.—Wheat certified as seed wheat under the Seed Wheat Certification Scheme of the Department of Agriculture in association with the Wheat Research Institute is exempted from the operations of the regulations under Regulation 3 Clause 7 (b). Nelson Wheat.—ln accordance with the provisions of Regulation 3 Clause 7 (a) wheat grown in the Provincial District of Nelson is exempted from the operations of the regulations provided that any manufacturer of food products for human consumption in the said district shall in respect of any wheat grown in the said district and used by him pay to the board the difference between the cost to him of any such wheat and the sum of 4/lld a bushel.
