GORE CLUB. SPECIAL MEDAL MATCH. A special medal match associated with which was a farewell to Mr G. S. Finlayson was played by members of the Gore Golf Club at the East Gore links on Tuesday evening. Mr R. Fisher (president) made a presentation of a gold eversharp pencil to Mr Finlayson as a mark of their appreciation. While he had not held any executive position, he had been a most enthusiastic golfer and always a sporting opponent, who had played the game for the game’s sake. Mr Finlayson suitably replied. The match was keenly contested and five men and two ladies returned cards under bogey. The details were:—
