FURTHER BORING WORK
FRESHFORD GOLD DREDGING CO.
SHAREHOLDERS’ DECISION.
At a special general meeting of shareholders of the Freshford Gold Dredging Company at Gore last evening to consider the position of the company it was decided to spend up to £lOO in further experimental boring work. The chairman of directors, Mr W. McKenzie, presided over an attendance of 20 shareholders. The secretary stated that after provision had been made for wages, outstanding accounts and royalties for the next fortnight, approximately £139 of the capital of the company remained. No provision had been made for repairs to the dredge. The chairman stated that since the dredge had ceased work the ground had been rebored and so far as he could see there was no prospect of carrying on. These tores had yielded poorer results than those of the dredge. It would cost about £4OO to repair the dredge. After a lengthy discussion a motion was moved by Mr W. Watkins that up to £lOO be spent in engaging a competent engineer and driller to bore the ground with a six-inch rig and that the data secured be submitted to a further meeting of shareholders. The motion was carried.
