GIFT EVENING. (From Our Correspondent.) On Tuesday evening, December 5, Miss I. Crengle was the guest of honour at an enjoyable evening arranged TH, .b e ™ sldents of Longwood and mm i, ’tU?? evening was held in the -ihaka Hall. During the evening songs were contributed by Messrs Wixon and Belsham, while Mr Ryan (Granity) ’ e a recitation. At a suitable interval Mr Nuttal, congratulated Miss Crengle and Mr Lapham on their approaching marriage and wished them every prosperity and happiness. He then called upon Mr M. Maley to make the presentation. In doing so, Mr Maley expressed the good wishes of plicM preSent ‘ 4-apham suitably refor*he dancing was supplied M '-? e ni S ! Egerton a nd McKay, while Mr J. Blakie was M.C. Amongst those present were Mesdames Lapham (sen.), Lapham (jun.), Crengle, Maley, Broomhall, Goodwillie Dawson, Stevens, Wahlick, Hodgetts, Martin, Misses Crengle (2) Wood ward (2), Elderton (2), Goodwills (2), Broomhall (2), Wilkenson (2), Kenneally (2), Egerton, Martin, Hodges, Cleaver, Kelland, Malley, Dawson and Marshal; Messrs Cleaver (3), DRerton (3), Lapham (3), Blakie (2), McKay Scott, Horan, Whaitiri, Wixon, Richards, Gregg, Belsham, Te Au, Ryan, Devereux, Blackmore, Robertson Woodward (2), Maley, Hodges, Dallas, Dawson, Drent, Laurie, Wameckie, I Nuttall and many others. ’ j
