AFRICAN HURRICANE

WIDESPREAD DAMAGE.

(United Press Assn. —Telegraph Copyright ) (Rec. 6.50 p.m.) Cape Town, Nov. 29. A message from Bloemfontein states that a terrific hurricane struck parts of the south-eastern Orange Free State. The roofs of farm houses were carried away, trees were uprooted anstock thrown down. The hurricane was followed by a destructive hailstorm which destroyed wheat crops and all fruit. The inhabitants were in darkness for 30 minutes and were terrified. At Smithfield the roof of a native isolation hospital was brown 700 yards away and trees of all sizes and outhouses were razed.
