(W.S. and Co.): Wright, Stephenson and Company. GENERAL NOTES. The launch Rap arrived from Ruapukc Island at 2.15 p.m. yesterday with sheep. The Shell Oil Company's motor tanker Paua yesterday completed discharge of her cargo of oil and sailed at midday for Lyttelton. The Union Company’s steamer Waipiata left Dunedin about midday yesterday for Bluff and should arrive for an early start to-day. She discharges sugar and general and will probably complete to-night and sail for the north via Dunedin. The Union Company advises that the Wairuna will leave Newcastle about December 7 for Wellington and Auckland. She is due at Auckland about December 21 and will sail two days later for Suva, Apia, and Vancouver. The O.S.K. Line motor ship Melbourne Maru is now due at Wellington on December 8 from Japan, via Australia, for discharging and loading. She will leave again the following day for Auckland, thence on December 11 to Sydney, Brisbane and Japan. The Union Company has received advice that the Karetu left Newcastle on November 23 for Penang, where she is due on December 14. She will load there and complete at Singapore and Samarang for Auckland, Wellington, Lyttelton, Timaru, Dunedin and Bluff. The Federal Company advises that the A. and A. Line chartered steamer City of Bedford, en route from Nev/ York and Gulf of Mexico ports, is now due at Auckland on December 7. She will later complete discharge at Napier, Wellington, Lyttelton, Dunedin, and Australia. The Blue Star Line advises that the Sultan Star, en route from London in ballast, is due at Napier on December 14 to commence Homeward loading. She will complete at Wellington, Timaru, Port Chalmers and Auckland. The vessel is due at Dunedin about December 26. and is to clear Auckland finally on January 5 for London, via the Panama canal. The New Zealand Shipping Company advises that the liner Rotorua, at present discharging Liverpool cargo at Timaru, W’ill commence Homeward loading at that port. She will later complete at Lyttelton, Napier, and Wellington, and is to clear the last named port finally on December 15 for London. via the Panama canal. The motor liner Rangitata. now en route from London to Auckland and Wellington, will commence loading during discharge at Wellington on December 28. She will complete at Bluff. Napier. Tokomaru Bay. and Auckland, and will clear the last-named port finally on January 19 for London, via the Panama canal. x During the week ended Octooer 13. Hoa vessels, representing 1.016.518 net register tons, used the port of London. Five hundred and thirty vessels (807,013 net register tons) were to and from Empire and foreign ports and 658 vessels (209.505 net register tons) were engaged in coastwise traffic. Nine vessels discharged meat cargoes in the port of London during the week ended October 12. six from Australia and New Zealand, the s.s. Limerick, Berwickshire, Narkunda. Hertford. Raranga and Bendigo, two from South America, the s.s. Duquesa and Sultan Star and one from South Africa, the Durham Castle, and altogether 190,000 carcasses of lamb and mutton, 94,000 quarters of beef, quantities of pork and rabbits and approximately 48,000 packages of sundries were distributed to the London market and throughout the country or placed into cold storage.
