RENT RESTRICTION

TERM OF ACT EXTENDED. (From Our Parliamentary Reporter.) Wellington, October 27. The Rent Restriction Act extending for a year the provisions of the existing law was put through all stages in the House of Representatives early this morning. The Prime Minister said that it was necessary for the legislation to be put through immediately in order to prevent legislation now in force expiring and at his request the measure was put through all stages in ten minutes.
