A plaintive note was struck by one member of the Addington Burgesses’ Association at the meeting of that body the other evening when a motion was put that a competition should be held for a Christmas hamper (says the Sun). “All those in favour?” inquired the chairman, expectantly; and from the back of the meeting a solitary voice replied “Aye.”
