MALE CHOIR

RECITAL ON TUESDAY NEXT. Opportunities of hearing good music tire, unfortunately, all too rare in Invercargill, and the enterprise of the Male Voice Choir in giving a second recital this year, will no doubt be- appreciated. The presentation of the programme should leave-nothing to be desired, and the wide variety of choral Works, the special soloists and the instrumentalists, should satisfy every taste. The cnoir has been practising assiduously under its hon. conductor, Dr. Stanley Brown, and will give a good account of itself. Miss Paape (soprano, of Dunedin), one of the assisting artists, is considered to have a robust and very promising voice and she has the necessary talent. She will make two appearances, and sing an operatic solo from “The Flying Dutchman” and “With the Swallow,” a beautiful song by E. Del’Acqua. Max Rolana and his five sisters will delight patrons with string orchestral music, quite apart from the usual and will appear in the national costume of the country in which they received their tuition. MrRobert Henry, Invercargill’s brilliant pianist, will play solo as well as acmompanying throughout the evening. Messrs Rewi Kingsland and . Frank Johnson need no introduction in this space. They are' experienced soloists and always stir the senses with their interpretation of their solo or duet work. The Male -Choir quartet party, consisting of Dr. S. Brown, Mr W. H. Farley, the Rev. C. H. Olds and Mr J. E. Taylor, are favourably known tor their artistic part singing. For the recital special lighting effects will be introduced., and the right .atmosphere created for the s full enjoyment of a delightful evening of music. The bo plan is at Chas. Begg and Coy s., Esk street, and the plan is now filling up. The price for the dress circle and an stalls is only 21- -and the booking tee. 6d.-, . . ■. r -
