The lambing season in parts of the Mackenzie County has been the most favourable for many years. One runholder told a representative of the Timaru Herald recently that in a flock of 120 to 130 two-tooth ewes he had lost only one lamb. “There has been nothing to kill them,” he said. If the country did not soon receive a soaking, however, the outlook would be anything but good.
