George (“Machinegun”) Kelly and his wife Katheryn, who are the last of a gang which "kidnapped Mr Charles Urschel, were convicted and sentenced to life imprisonment to-day. A previous message stated: What is considered an important achievement in the Federal Government’s campaign against kidnapping w r as seen in _ two convictions secured in two sensational cases. Seven defendants, including one woman and the notorious gunman Harvey Bailey, were convicted and face life imprisonment in connection with the kidnapping of Charles Urschel, a wealthy Oklahoma city petroleum magnate, approximately 75,000 of the 200,000 dollar ransom which was paid also being recovered. Six members of the gang, three of whom, including one woman, received life imprisonment, were convicted and sentenced in connection with the kidnapping in August of Mr Luer, an aged banker of Edwardsville, Illinois.
