When the Emperor of Japan is displeased with one of his lieutenants, he sends him a plate of soup. Most Japanse would rather commit hari-kari than receive this gift. While a whist drive was in progress on the Canadian Pacific liner Montclare, an 18in flying-fish jumped through an open porthole and landed on one of the tables.
