CIVIC BAND

CONCERT TO-MORROW EVENING. In the Civic Theatre to-morrow evening the Civic Band is giving another of its popular concerts. It was announced at the last concert that the Bluff Band would provide the programme on this occasion, but on account of another engagement it will be unable to come until the 22nd inst. Mr Kennedy Black has come ,to the band’s assistance and will provide most of the programme with his pupils, who made a great hit at the recent High School concert. Mrs Len Clode and Miss Davin are both vocalists considerably above the average, and Masters Morris and Paul Tansley are two clever young artists whose number is bound to be popular. The band’s numbers will be in keeping with the rest. of this high-class programme and will include that fine brass band classic selection, “Verdi,” which has always been popular with' lovers of band music, and Tosselli’s celebrated Serenata. The programme, which appears in the advertising columns, is one of the finest that has been offered during the whole series of Sunday concerts and a packed house should be the result. As the band has commenced training for the next championship contest, and will require funds, it appeals to patrons to be as generous as possible with their offerings at the door.
