WOUND HEALING

AUSTRIAN CHANCELLOR ASSAILANT A FORMER NAZI CONNECTION PROVED (United Press Assn.—Telegraph Copyright.) (Rec. 7.5 p.m.) London, October 6. The Vienna correspondent of The Times states that Dr Dollfuss is improving. The police possess conclusive proof that Dr Dollfuss’s assailant, Dertil, has been a registered member of the Nazis since January, 1932, also that he was a storm trooper. A form he filled in was recently discovered in a raid on Nazi premises. Dertil, confronted with the form, withdrew his denial that he had been a Nazi and explained that he resigned six months ago. The Vienna correspondent of the News-Chronicle says that the ViceChancellor, Major Fey, declares that Dertil was driven to the crime by Nazi mentality. “I believe we have got the Nazis on the run and will complete their destruction in a few weeks, resulting in Germany realizing that she cannot break Austria, after which a friendly settlement will be possible,” he said.

A message from Munich states that a sensation was caused at a Nazi meeting when' Herr Rauter, affirming that Dertil’s stepfather corresponded with Major Fey and Herr Steidle, said it was obvious, therefore that the impluse for Dertil’s crime came from their entourage.
