FOUND SHOT. (Per United Press Association.) Greymouth, October 5. William Edward Ilton, a middle-aged single farmer of North Beach, Cobden, was found dead in his hut this morning. He was seated in a chair in the kitchen with a shot gun in his left hand. The trigger of the gun was attached by string to his left foot. He had not been seen yesterday and a friend called at the hut this morning. He noticed Iltori seated in the chair and informed the police. The bullet had entered the left eye, death apparently having occurred from 12 to 20 hours previously. Deceased had been engaged in pig raising in the district for some years.
