WAGES CUTS
TOO SOON YET FOR RESTORATION. (From Our Parliamentary Reporter.) Wellington, September 28. Replying to a question by Mr D. W. Coleman in the House of Representatives this afternoon, the Prime Minister said it was too early for the rise which had taken place in some of the export prices of our commodities abroad to have been reflected in the public finances, and consequently it was not proposed to restore the wages cuts and pensions cuts at present.
