SMOKE CONCERT
RIMU FOOTBALL, CLUB. (From Our Correspondent.) To mark the conclusion of a very successful season in which the Rimu Football Club succeeded in winning the second grade banner in the Town competitions, a smoke concert was held in Kennington hall on Tuesday evening, Mr T. Lyall (president) being in the chair. There was a good attendance including five officials of the S.R.F.U., while something of “an invasion” was staged by the arrival of a large number of guests from the Oteramika Club, Rimu’s near neighbours of the Southern district

Baird (captain). Other toasts honoured were:—“Referees’ Association” (Mr T. Meredith—Mr J. Ewart); “Southland Selectors (Mr W. Bulling—Messrs H. S. Strang and A. Mitchell); “Kindred Clubs” (Mr J. Cournane —Mr K. Johnston, Oteramika; A. Mitchell, Old Boys; T. Meredith, Waikiwi; H. Strang, Star; A. H. Courtis, Bluff); “Rimu Football Club” (Mr J. Ewart—Mr T.
