In the British Government offices in Whitehall electric light bulbs vary acvording to the satus of the worker. They range from thirty candle-power lamps for junior clerks to 200 candlepower for the highest ranks. The abolition of side-lamps on Great Western trains in Britain, is to save £20,000 a year.
