STRIKE UNSETTLED
FELLMONGERY WORKERS. (United Press Assn.—Telegraph Copyright.) (Rec. 8.25 p.m.) Sydney. September 26. The fellmongery strike is still progressing. A mass meeting of operatives to consider the terms rejected the proposals. The industrial registrar was informed by the strikers’ leaders that the conditions offered were regarded as unsatisfactory.
At a compulsory conference of parties to the fellmongery dispute on Monday the registrar suggested that the strikers should return to work and their case for reseession of the 10 per cent, wages cut would be referred to the Arbitration Court.
ABATTOIR WORKERS
SETTLEMENT OF DISPUTE.
(United Press Assn—Telegraph Copyright.) (Rec. 8.25 p.m.) Sydney, September 26. The abattoirs strikers returned to work to-day. The dispute with the employers was settled amicably.
At the Sydney abattoirs 400 men ceased work as a protest against the reallocation of space allotments by the superintendent which meant the dismissal of five men. As a result the others struck. Only mutton slaughtermen were affected.
