MATAURA NEWS

(From Our Correspondent.) Spring flower services were held in the Mataura and Tuturau Presbyterian churches on Sunday, large congregations assembling, the morning congregation at Mataura being particularly large. At this service a choir of some 40 children from the Sabbath school occupied the choir pews and led the singing, while appropriate choral numbers vzere also given during the offertory. A quartette and a duet were feelingly rendered by some of the girls and great credit is due to Misses Martin Whiteley and Bums for the manner in which they trained the children so that they would acquit themselves so splendidly. The Rev. David McNeur occupied the pulpit for all services and preached appropriate sermons. A feature of the occasion was the decorations in the churches, and it is the intention of those responsible that the blooms be sent to the Gore Hospital for distribution.
