THRILLING MOTOR RACE

ULSTER TOURIST TROPHY. SUCCESS OF BRITISH CARS. (British Official Wireless.) (Rec. 5.5 p.m.) Rugby, September 4. Although no bones were broken in the thrilling Ulster Tourist Trophy race on Saturday, the risks taken by the drivers as they hurled round the difficult course with its numerous sharp corners were such that the newspapers say the race will probably next year be made much longer to encourage the drivers to play more for safety. The race was a distinct triumph for British M.G. cars. On the 500 miles course Nuvolari, the Italian ace, won at 78.65 miles an hour in a 12-horse-power M.G. Magnette model. Every record for the course was broken many times. Other cars distinguishing themselves this way were Riley and Invicta machines.
