RABBIT BOARD

NEW RIVER HUNDRED. The monthly meeting of the New River Hundred Rabbit Board was held in the Waianiwa Hall on Monday evening when the chairman, Mr C. P. Dalrymple, presided over the following members: Messrs C. Donald, O. O. Mackley, D. Macpherson and T. Millar. Mr H. McCann wrote saying that he had received permanent employment and therefore would not be able, to accept temporary work as a rabbiter with the board. Mr Mclvor’s appointment to Mr McCann’s place was confirmed. The rabbiters were present for a short time to discuss the best methods of destroying the rabbits during the next two months. It was decided to trap, dig out and poison according to the nature of the ground on which the rabbiters were working. The purchase of five 281 b tins of poisoned pollard for each of the five rabbiters was authorized. , The contract with the local, dealer having terminated it was decided to forward all skins to Messrs Dalgety and Co., Dunedin.
