DEBATING
WILD BUSH SOCIETY. The Wild Bush Literary and Debating Society held its final meeting for the 1933 season on Monday, August 18. Mr R. Shearing presided over a large attendance of members and visitors. A mock court was held when several members of the society were arrested and called upon to answer a “charge” of law breaking. This proved to be highly entertaining and amusing. After supper, community singing was led by Mr B. Prosser. The following also contributed items: Mr J. Watson (humorous items), Mr Te Au (solo) and Mr J. Martin (recitation). A vote of thanks was moved to all those who had assisted with the evening’s entertainment.
